This article includes basic information about the MediaSpace service offered by MnSCU. This article is intended for '''all members of the campus community'''.

==What's MediaSpace?==
MediaSpace is a personal, web-based, rich media portal that is built running on an opensource media streaming software called Kaltura. The MediaSpace service is designed to behave like YouTube video steaming services without the commercials. This service is designed to allow faculty and staff to post video content in a private setting and share out to others in D2L Brightspace courses or on public web sites. Currently this service allows faculty and staff to upload videos recorded on their laptop or tablet. This tool also has the ability to upload Closed Captioning files to your video content, capture desktop screen and webcam videos, and the ability to add quizzes to your video recordings.

==Accessing==
To access MediaSpace you will need an active STARID. Go to the following link and use your STARID credentials to authenticate to this media server.
Currently this service allows faculty and staff to upload videos recorded on their laptop or tablet. This tool also has the ability to upload Closed Captioning files to your video content, capture desktop screen and webcam videos, and the ability to add quizzes to your video recordings.

==Accessing==
==What's MediaSpace?==

==Accessing==
To access MediaSpace you will need an active STARID. Go to the following link and use your STARID credentials to authenticate to this media server.

If you don’t want the video to pause while editing the text, you may un-check the box that says, “Pause video while typing”. This box is checked automatically.

The edited subtitles are now saved on the video and are ready for viewing.
